Pride Comes Before a Fall by Josie Jenkins - Screen print

This print, commissioned by the Bluecoat and funded by the Ulrike Michal Foundation for the Arts (UMFFTA), is a collaboration between artist Josie Jenkins and printmaker Kate Hodgson.

The image is taken from Jenkins' original artwork titled Pride Comes Before a Fall, which is part of a series titled Willow Pattern Stories. The series features imaginary interiors incorporating elements of the Willow Pattern ceramic design, which became popular in England during the late 18th century. The original artwork has been carefully adapted to create this 6 colour screen print featuring a bold new colour scheme and hand drawn elements. The prints, in an edition of 40, have been hand printed by Jenkins and Hodgson in the Bluecoat Print Studios.
